Easy Chocolate Truffle Cake

This chocolate truffle cake doesn’t require a lot of ingredients, but is very rich and tasty.

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz semi-sweet chocolate
  • 4 eggs, yolks separated
  • 1/2 cup sweet butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon flour
  • powdered sugar, to sprinkle (optional)
  • chocolate icing (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425F/220C and oil a 9″x13″ springform pan.
  2. In a pan, melt together butter and chocolate. Add sugar, flour, and 1 teaspoon of hot water, blending well. Slowly, beat in one egg yolk at a time.
  3. In a bowl, beat egg whites until stiff. Add slowly to the chocolate mixture.
  4. Pour into pan and bake for 15-20 minutes. Let cake cool completely and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
