Dark Chocolate Cake Recipe
This dark chocolate cake is easy to make, but will impress all of your guests with its elegant look and sumptuous filling.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 eggs
- 2 1/4 cups white sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cup boiling water
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350F/175C. Grease 3, 9″ round cake pans.
- In medium bowl, pour boiling water over cocoa and mix until smooth.
- Let the mixture cool and mix in flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream sugar and butter together until light and fluffy. Beat in one egg at a time and stir in vanilla.
- Slowly add the flour mixture and the cocoa mixture, alternately.
- Spread the mixture evenly over the 3 pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes and allow to cool before serving.
