Best Coffee Cake Recipe
I love coffee cake and so I’ve tried a number of different recipes, but this is one by far my favorite! Although it doesn’t take long at all to prepare, it is advised that you assemble it the night before. This recipe is fast, easy, and absolutely delicious!
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions:
- In a large bowl, add butter and sugar, mixing well until creamy. Add in one egg at a time, beating in between.
- In a separate bowl, combine baking soda, nutmeg, flour, and salt. Add to the creamy mixture with sour cream, mixing well in between.
- Spread into 13″x9″x2″ greased baking dish.
- In a smaller bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon and pecans. Sprinkle evenly over cake. Cover and refrigerate over night.
- Remove cake from fridge 30 minutes prior to baking.
- Preheat oven to 350F and bake, uncovered for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes.
- To make the glaze, combine confectioners sugar with milk and drizzle over warm coffee cake.
ENJOY!
